Puppy Smackdowns!

At 2 1/2 weeks the puppies have all doubled their weight (and then some) and have opened their eyes. They are now waddling around the whelping box and playing puppy king of the mountain. They have also discovered that they can bark and exercise this new skill with vigor! They descend upon Jill when she gets into the whelping box so she has taken to nursing them standing up.

Here is our Sweet Maggie meeting the new babies for the first time. Maggie just loves puppies. Maggie is 12 years old (quite elderly for a GSD) and suffering from severe spinal arthritis . This will be probably be the last litter she gets to see SIGH.... :-(

Still alive and kicking

Whew, I have been down and out for the past couple of weeks with what my Dr. called "the Super Cold". Let me tell you, there was nothing Super about it. It was one nasty upper respiratory infection that really wiped me out. I'm much better, but wish that darn cough would go away. I have to get me strength back as we have an exciting announcement in the near future.......stay tuned.........

Snow!

This is what middle Tennessee looked like when I left for work this am.  Our yardstick measures 7.5 inches.  That is a lot of snow for the south.  Reminds me of my 2 winters in Pocatello, ID...well almost LOL

There is nothing better than an early morning snuggle on a cold Saturday morning.  Now how am I  going to get the rest of the gang on the couch.

Cardi Claus!

I arrived home from Janet's this morning and what did I find....Cardi Claus had arrived!  What a nice box of goodies!  All kinds of cool toys and yummy treats, a Christmas stocking and a nice doggie throw.  Then I found the very special Lego ornament tucked inside.  Oh my, the Lyberty gang is going to have a very merry Christmas indeed.
A huge thank you to Kathy, Moe, Denali, Sage and Elbee from Santa Clara, CA.

A doggie Christmas Message

I just had to share this....

A Nativity Scene was erected in a church yard. During the night the folks came across this scene. An abandoned dog was looking for a comfortable, protected place to sleep.
He chose baby Jesus as his comfort. No one had the heart to send him away so he was there all night.

We should all have the good sense of this dog and curl up in Jesus' lap from time to time. By the way, no one mentioned that the dog breed is a "shepherd!"

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
