Snowy Weekend

So we had the big snow on Friday then we had freezing rain on top of the snow that night. Then it snow all day Saturday. Our official measurement is 6". That is a lot of snow for middle Tennessee - and we are not set up to deal with it. Last night it dropped to 19 degrees and froze everything. The good news is the temperature is beginning to rise and things are starting to melt. I ventured out and tried to start my van this morning - no luck. I am hoping when it warms up I will get lucky. It would be about time for problems....I mailed the last payment in on Tuesday!
Here is a shot of Belle playing in the snow
Belle is available to the right pet home!

SNOW DAY!

The winter weather storm hit middle Tennessee at around 10 am with a vengeance. The weather is so bad that the Governor closed all State offices at Noon. This is the 2nd time this has happened in my 25 year career with the State. Here are a few shots that I took when I got home. In the time it took me to download the pictures and compose this post the snow had covered all evidence of our excursion outside. It is snowing so hard now that we are in near white-out conditions. I feel like I'm living in Idaho again! Sure am glad I went to the grocery store before work today! My husband works in a near-by town. He will be camping at his Mom's house tonight! Think I'll put on a big pot of chili!

Lego & Star sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G

We bred Lego (CH Grangefield Lyberty's Legacy) to Star (CH Lyberty Star Spangle Banner) last week. This is my first attempt at a natural breeding and Lego did me proud. We are keeping our fingers crossed that puppies will arrive in Mid-March. Star is our first bred-by champion and is out of CH Joseter The Blue Cafe and CH Grangefield Kiss Me Kate. This is a breeding I have wanted to do for a long time but it always seemed someone else needed to be bred when ever Star went into season.

Here is Star the day she finished at 18 months.

Here is Lego standing on the back of the couch trying to see Star before the had their rendezvous. He was definitely telling me she was ready!

Puppy Mug Shots

It is still pretty cold in Tennessee and the puppies have been spending a lot of time playing in their indoor pen. I stayed home today with a sinus headache. I took a brief nap and woke up to a quiet house. I remember my Mom saying she never worried about us unless we were too quiet. I think the picture below says it all.....
This is what an entire roll of paper towels looks like after it "falls" into a puppy pen.
As you can see Rosie( center left) is quite proud of herself!

Norman says he was just an innocent bystander.

Doolittle fingered Belle as the ring leader.

Belle says she was in Minneapolis when it happened.

BRRRRRR!

It's really cold in middle Tennessee with temperatures in the teens for the past several days. I was playing with my new Droid (Verizon's answer to the iphone) this afternoon and happened on weather.com. Oh My Goodness, it's going to get colder! They are calling for 3 inches of accumulating snow Wednesday night and temps dropping into the minus column. Now for you northern folks (or Yankees as we call ya), that doesn't seem like much, but it will paralyze everything here.
.
I think I reached my lifetime cold weather limit during the 2 winters I spent at Idaho State University completing my graduate degree. Or maybe, 25 years of living back in the South has spoiled me.
.
BRRRRRRRRR!!!!!
