I arrived home yesterday to find a package from Lynne Costner O'Brien. Inside this package was a beautiful piece of art - A Star Memory box. The picture does not do it justice. The Cardi on the box looks so much like Star. She is gazing up at a full moon that bears her name, paw prints and a tiny angel. Lynne and her family have a puppy from our second litter, Izzy. The cardigans have been such a blessing to our lives. Great dogs have led us to meet such great people. Thank you Lynne - we will treasure this special gift!

Star lost her battle with lymphoma later last night. In true Star fashion, she went on her own accord. She had rapidly declined over the last day and we had made the decision to take her to the vet today and say good bye. Star was from our first litter and was my first bred-by champion. She took the ring by storm and seemed to tell the Judges to "pick me". She was our mouthy trouble maker who we often joked should have been named "I didn't do it" or "it wasn't me". We will miss you sweet, silly girl. You are pain free now sweet girl and can run free with Maggie and Rudy.....cancer sucks
