Saying Goodbye.
Our sweet Maggie May, age 12 1/2, crossed the rainbow bridge last Friday. Maggie was my husband's dream dog. She came to us 3 days after we lost our 16 yr. old Norwegian elkhound, Zack. We weren't ready for another dog, but Rick's son saw it differently. Maggie filled a large hole in our lives and set things in motion towards our first Cardigan. I caught the show bug while taking Maggie to obedience classes and the rest is history. Maggie was a true Frisbee dog. She lived for the chase. She was the matriarch of our crew and took on each cardigan as her own. Maggie developed spondilosis about 3 years ago. The pain was too much for her and we helped her cross the bridge Friday afternoon. She is pain free now and chasing frisbees with Zack and Rudy.
We also learned last week that our first bred by - Star - has aggressive lymphoma. She will join Maggie at the bridge soon.
